Patrick Dempsey seems to be exactly what the doctor ordered for Silhouette Optical. The company known for innovative rimless eyewear has decided to continue its high-profile relationship with him as its celebrity spokesperson for 2014.

When he’s not filming the tenth season of “Grey’s Anatomy” in his hometown of Los Angeles, “McDreamy” (as his beloved fans call him) can be seen promoting Silhouette as well as his passion for car racing and cycling. Dempsey was on location in Hollywood for his second Icon for an Icon campaign shot by Peter Lindbergh, where he explained his passion for the brand. “I’ve had a great experience working with Silhouette, and I love their glasses. I love the reading glasses that I have on now and also their sunglasses—which I wear all the time,” says Dempsey. “They are great when I’m driving… when I’m out in the road car.”

Silhouette’s trademark rimless aesthetic allows the wearer’s face to be seen without restrictions with lightweight frames that don’t obscure appearances. The idea behind the campaign is to capture Dempsey in an authentic, relaxed moment, which it calls LITESTYLE. “The rimless glasses make you almost feel as if you don’t wear glasses at all,” explains Dempsey. “They sort of disappear somehow, but at the same time there’s a nice sense of style to them. They’re lightweight and they’re comfortable, and they’re stylish.”

Silhouette’s commitment to technical innovation and lightweight design is what keeps Dempsey flashing his mega-watt smile. The lens shape can be customized to suit the face of the wearer, and Silhouette has created several pairs for Dempsey that uniquely fit him.

Continuing its partnership with Dempsey was an easy choice for Silhouette. His authenticity and openness make him a success on and off screen with Silhouette customers. It’s a match made in eyewear heaven.
