DALLAS, Tx.–A special free CE course is being offered by the Optical Women’s Association (OWA) at the upcoming ABO-NCLE National Education Conference in September, part of the organization’s ongoing Professional Optical Women’s Workshop (POWW) series of development events.

The course, “GO FISH! For Opticians” will be a free 2-credit ABO course presented by Mike Karlsrud, regional sales manager of Vision-Ease Lens, an ABO certified speaker, on Saturday, Sept. 20th from 5:30pm to 8:30pm at the Duke Energy Center in Cincinnati, where the national conference is being held.

Participation in the course is open to all, not exclusively to OWA members, and is free with registration to the ABO-NCLE Conference.

“Go Fish! for Opticians” is a fun, fast, team-building program that informs and teaches attendees how choosing their attitudes and incorporating play into their daily work life can change their lives as well as those of the patients. It is a two hour ABO certified class that is based off of a video shot at the Pike Street Fish Market in Seattle, Wash, about how a small group of guys who focused on these four principles changed their lives and became world famous in the process. The program tends to empower attendees to change the way they look at work, their teams and their lives.

Attendees can register online at www.abo-ncle-conference.com. If they are not taking other ABO-NCLE courses, they can click through to step 7, OAA Annual Meeting and Conference Special Events, to indicate participation in GO FISH! The $25 registration fee includes breakfast seminars, entrance into exhibit hall, lunch in the exhibit hall, complimentary general sessions as well as the Optical Women's Association GO FISH! program. Light refreshments will be served prior to the start of the program.
