SOMERVILLE, Mass.— EyeNetra, a Somerville-based provider of mobile eye tests, has secured $1 million of a $1.2 million offering, according to documents filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

David Schafran, president at EyeNetra, and Ramesh Raskar, co-founder of EyeNetra and associate professor at MIT Media Lab are listed in the filing as directors of the company.

EyeNetra, founded in 2011, has developed a cloud-based platform for eyecare called Test2Connect and a suite of mobile eye diagnostics through which patients can connect to care providers and vendors such as eyeglass stores, hospitals or doctors with “actionable measurements” at or close to home. The first diagnostic is called NETRA-G, an award winning technology based on research at MIT Media Lab that quickly measures for nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism on a mobile phone.

Company executives were not available for comment at press time.

Raskar was a featured speaker at Vision Monday’s 2012 Global Leadership Summit, where he spoke about EyeNetra’s technology and its potential impact on optical industry.
