RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif.—Based on the success of the 2009 Eyefinity/OfficeMate Virtual Users’ Group Meeting (VUGM), which took place July 13 to 17, the company has extended the deadline for online access to the event until Sept. 30.

Nearly 4,400 attendees registered for the VUGM, which had a 1,900 percent increase in attendance over last year. This year’s meeting was the first in an online Webinar format, allowing practices to choose from a weeklong set of two dozen courses made available through live interactive video sessions instead of an on-site meeting.

“In today’s economy, it made sense to help our users by converting our annual user group meeting to an online format, which opened this event to thousands of users without them having to incur the loss of practice revenue and travel expenses to attend,” said Ed Buffington, chief operating officer for Eyefinity/OfficeMate. “Because education is of paramount importance to Eyefinity/OfficeMate, we are dedicated to offering new and continuous learning opportunities for our users and are planning additional educational events in 2010 leveraging similar Webinar technology.”

Users who registered for the VUGM have access to view all the courses again online. Eyefinity/OfficeMate users who did not register for this year’s VUGM can pay the $129 registration fee to get access to the WebEx reordering of every course, as well as a question-and-answer transcript, until Sept. 30.

Next year’s Eyefinity/OfficeMate Virtual Users’ Group Meeting is scheduled for July 13 to 17, 2010.
