1  KERING EYEWEAR has signed an agreement to acquire independent sunglass brand Maui Jim. The transaction is subject to clearance by the relevant competition authorities and is expected to be completed in the second half of 2022.

5  WARBY PARKER has announced a new partnership with Eastman to pioneer a first-of-its-kind demo lens molecular recycling program. This new program breaks down discarded demo lenses from Warby Parker’s labs to create feedstock for Eastman Acetate Renew.

6  100%, the San Diego-based sports performance brand has announced the appointment of a new leadership team to support the company’s accelerated growth in eyewear, in addition to launching the company’s first collection of snow products.

7  MAUI JIM has teamed up with RFK Racing as their first official sunglass partner going into the 2022 season. Maui Jim will equip all of RFK’s personnel both on and off the track with eyewear.

8  DRAGON ALLIANCE has partnered with Boarding for Breast Cancer (B4BC) to help support B4BC’s mission of providing education to young people and support to those who have been affected by breast cancer. Dragon will be producing a limited run of Opus LL sunglasses in a special colorway to represent B4BC and bring awareness to the organization. 

9  SHOPKO OPTICAL has welcomed Tod Wiederholt to its leadership team as vice president of information technology. In this position, Wiederholt will be responsible for all aspects of information technology for Shopko Optical.
