SUPER OPTICAL is forming a national network of sales representatives to help increase awareness of its FastGrind Lens Surfacing System and other core products.

The move is in response to a recent survey of existing FastGrind customers, which revealed that the leading reason FastGrind was not adopted by the practice sooner was because they were not aware of the technology benefits or savings potential, Super Optical says.

“To date Super Optical has handled FastGrind sales completely internally, which has brought FastGrind to nearly 60 countries worldwide. However, if our mission is to help independent eyecare professionals in the United States remain independent, we need to do a better job of raising the awareness of how FastGrind can play a part in that independence,” CEO/owner Andy Hawes explains.

The FastGrind is a simple to use, all-in-one surfacing system that produces digitally enhanced progressives as well as other lens designs with the system, which Super Optical describes as “the world’s smallest and most economical lens surfacing system,” requires only tap water and isn’t messy to operate, the company says.

Super Optical plans to primarily utilize the existing network of independent frame representatives that want to add non-competing product lines to their portfolio, but wants to recruit other sales professionals as well. The sales reps are not expected to perform any of the training or ongoing account management, according to Super Optical. “We have made it as easy as possible to join our network. If you’re interested in spreading awareness of FastGrind to independent optical shops, we want to compensate you for that effort,” says Hawes.

Hawes adds that applications for the sales positions can be sent to him at [email protected].
