Many of us have fond memories of skating to our favorite songs at roller rinks from our childhood days. Designer Victor Glemaud recaptured some of those emotions at his Spring/Summer 2023 runway show during New York Fashion Week (NYFW) with Rockefeller Center’s golden Prometheus statue as the iconic backdrop. Flipper’s Roller Boogie Palace at The Rink at Rockefeller Center played host to the show as Glemaud sent roller skaters and models down the runway wearing his statement black and white knits, sultry leopard prints and crochet tunics.

Glamorous oversized sun shields from the new GLEMAUD X TURA eyewear collection topped off the sophisticated swim and ready-to-wear knit looks the designer is known for. Jennifer Coppel, Tura’s VP of brand management, states: “Victor designed the minimalistic lines of the shield in five colors to complement a broad range of skin tones for people of color. Constructed with the same level of fit details as our optical GLEMAUD x Tura collection, wearers can expect the shield to fit and flatter for unparalleled comfort and glamorous style.”

The GLEMAUD x Tura optical and sunglass collection debuted in June to optical retailers in North America. The sun shield featured here at NYFW is a runway exclusive available at select locations, and the Nordstrom and Farfetch websites. Lace up your skates, shield your eyes, and get ready to boogie.
