In two months on Feb. 3 to 5, 2024, eyewear aficionados from around the world will convene in Milan for MIDO. The organizers at MIDO are gearing up for the latest edition of the eyewear show and building anticipation to surprise exhibitors and visitors with new elements such as new communication tools, new topics for the Otticlub’s program, influencers’ engagement, as well as travel packages for attendees.

Complimentary trains have been arranged for participants from Italy’s main cities, as well as free transfers from the Milan train stations and airports. To assist visitors and exhibitors from the U.S., Central and South America, special discounts on flights and hotel accommodations are available at mido.com/en/accommodation.

While MIDO is proud of its technological and digital soul, as a major international event, show organizers also take high responsibility in terms of its impact on the environment, sharing the path toward ISO 20121:2012 certification, which attests to the sustainable management of large events. As part of this, MIDO has invited all exhibitors to participate in the Certified Sustainable Eyewear (CSE) Award, created in partnership with ANFAO and Certottica. The award assesses sustainability in the eyewear industry at an international level. Criteria that will be used to determine the award’s second winners include recycled materials, reduced consumption in the production and distribution processes, maximization of the supply chain, elimination of waste, degree of recyclability, use of renewable resources and any certifications already achieved. The award is divided into six categories: CSE Award Sunglasses Europe, CSE Award Sunglasses Rest of the World, CSE Award Frames Europe, CSE Award Frames Rest of the World, CSE Award Cases Europe and CSE Award Cases Rest of the World. Winners will be announced during MIDO.

MIDO will also present the BeStore Award in recognition of the best optical center in the world, as well as the Stand Up For Green award, which will be assigned to the most sustainable stand, based on its focus on environmental impact and use of materials. Registration is currently open for MIDO at mido.com/en/entry-pass. More information can be found online at mido.com and its social channels.
