Ksubi: Sun Collection

Ksubi, an international fashion and lifestyle brand, formerly known as Tsubi, based in Australia with a cult following among celebrities and fashionistas, introduces its first sunglass collection. PHILOSOPHY: “My target customers are people who have a taste and passion for design and innovation. I don’t have a logo because I don’t design glasses for individuals who need a status boost, but rather for rock stars— or those who think they are,” says Ksubi eyewear designer Graz Mulcahy.
MARKETING: A look book is available. Each frame comes with a case and sock/pouch.
PRICE POINT: $$$$ to $$$$$. For additional information, contact Ksubi Eyewear, (323) 874-1227; web site: www.ksubi.com

In 2000, two Australians, George Gorrow and Dan Single, produced a denim-based casual wear collection in a friend’s garage. The clothes had a ragged hobo look and much to the designers’ surprise received a series of major orders. They named the brand Tsubi— now Ksubi—a nonsense word having no meaning.
