Ksubi: Sun Collection
A SUNNY OUTLOOK

Ksubi, an international fashion and lifestyle brand, formerly known as Tsubi, based in Australia with a cult following among celebrities and fashionistas, introduces its first sunglass collection. Included are 16 styles in oversize, vintage-inspired aviator, shield, rectangular and square designs Frames are zyl, magnesium and sheet stainless steel and come in three colors each in shades ranging from gunmetal, silver, brown, black, white and tortoise to blue, burgundy, green, pink and yellow. Lenses are made of NXT or CR-39. The sunglasses are sold in select high-end boutiques and optical shops.

PHILOSOPHY: “My target customers are people who have a taste and passion for design and innovation. I don’t have a logo because I don’t design glasses for individuals who need a status boost, but rather for rock stars— or those who think they are,” says Ksubi eyewear designer Graz Mulcahy.
MARKETING: A look book is available. Each frame comes with a case and sock/pouch.
PRICE POINT: $$$$ to $$$$$. For additional information, contact Ksubi Eyewear, (323) 874-1227; web site: www.ksubi.com

TIP
In 2000, two Australians, George Gorrow and Dan Single, produced a denim-based casual wear collection in a friend’s garage. The clothes had a ragged hobo look and much to the designers’ surprise received a series of major orders. They named the brand Tsubi— now Ksubi—a nonsense word having no meaning.
