Sàfilo Group and Jack Spade, the American men’s accessories and apparel brand, launch Jack Spade men’s sunglasses. A 13-style men’s ophthalmic line was previewed here in April. Following the brand’s philosophy that products should be designed with a purpose in mind, the sunglasses follow suit. Comprised of 10 masculine styles available in metal, including titanium and acetate, the collection consists of aviator, navigator and retro designs.

PHILOSOPHY: “The Jack Spade sunglass launch collection, like the brand’s clothing and other accessories, was designed with inherent style and utilitarian simplicity without taking itself too seriously, as evidenced by the decorative airplane rivet temple tips, graph paper pattern and signature orange color that is visible throughout the collection. Several styles are offered with flex hinges for superior comfort and polarized lenses to reflect sun glare, which speaks to the brand’s focus on functionality,” says Glenn Rusk, commercial head of Sàfilo North America.

MARKETING: Merchandising materials include one- and six-place displays, mirrors and logo plaques. Each sunglass comes with a dark chocolate canvas soft case stitched with the “Jack Spade Warren Street New York” label that appears on the brand’s clothing and other accessories, and a white and blue cleaning cloth highlighted with the brand’s iconic graph paper pattern.

INSIGHT
Jack Spade began in 1996 out of a warehouse on Warren Street in New York City. It grew out of the idea that useful items could also be stylish. It remains true to the idea that good design solves a problem with straightforward solutions, using timeless and durable materials.
