Luxottica Group relaunches its Brooks Brothers Eyewear line, introducing a retro twist—a distinctly new direction for the eyewear. Included are 18 ophthalmic frames and eight sunglasses offered in two segments: modern, featuring updated styling targeted to a younger demographic; and classic, offering traditional shapes and a quintessential Brooks Brothers “gentleman” appeal. Overall the relaunch reflects 1950s inspiration delivered in a contemporary manner. Metal and acetate combinations and titanium have been added to a collection that was primarily metal, enhancing the retro flair. More rectangular styles have also been added to the smaller, rounded designs for increased variety. Additionally, special details such as the Repp tie stripe pattern inspired by the classic Brooks Brothers Repp tie and the Brooks fleece logo are essential elements in the new collection.

PHILOSOPHY:
“The new Brooks Brothers eyewear is a reflection of the heritage, value and commitment to quality on which the brand is based,” says Victor Melendez, Luxottica vice president of marketing. “For the past 190 years, Brooks Brothers has consistently set the standards for American styling. In fact, the Repp tie pattern, an iconic symbol that launched at Brooks Brothers in 1920, was the focus for the optical launch. This new ophthalmic collection demonstrates the incredible attention to detail and high-quality materials for which Brooks Brothers is known.”
