Building on its 30-year history in the sport sunglass category, Gargoyles launches its first ophthalmic collection. Available from Quantum Optics, the new line consists of 12 styles in two colors each. Shapes are fully rimmed and semi-rimless masculine variations on ovals and rectangles. Frames are constructed of monel and Japanese zyl, and offered in such colors as black, bronze, steel blue, tobacco, tortoise and black and blue with matte finishes. Some styles are equipped with rocking nosepads for added comfort.

PHILOSOPHY:
“We’re excited to bring Gargoyles’ heritage of sharp, masculine styling to the first-ever Gargoyles optical collection,” says John Castagnetti, director of product development, reading glasses and optical frames for Quantum Optics. “After decades of success in the sunglass market, the Gargoyles brand has a loyal following and is a natural fit for optical frames. This collection with its sleek, minimalist designs and discreet tone-on-tone logo treatments fills a void in today’s sport-inspired eyewear assortment by providing wearable styling with subtle features for the modern man.”

A merchandising kit is available and includes components for single and multiple frame displays and a logo plaque with countercard. Each frame comes with a metal case.
