ClearVision Optical and BCBG Max Azria have once again partnered to create a special limited-edition sunglass, Faith, to raise funds for Susan G. Komen for the Cure. With a suggested retail price of $120, 25 percent of each Faith sunglass sale (approximately $30) from September 1, 2008 through August 31, 2009 will be donated to the organization with a guaranteed minimum donation of $25,000.
The two companies first teamed up in 2007 to produce a cause-specific, limited-edition sunglass, called Hope, to support breast cancer research. By the end of the Hope sunglass sales campaign, more than $78,750 was raised and donated. This year, they aim to surpass last year’s total and raise over $100,000.

The Faith sunglass is a multi-laminate Mazzucchelli plastic design with a soft, rectangular shape. Available in black or white, both options feature a soft pink layer inside, reflective of the pink color associated with the breast cancer initiative. To further tie into the cause, Faith’s silhouette has a signature BCBG Max Azria icon cutout with a breast cancer pink ribbon silk-screened underneath on a transparent layer. The Faith sunglass comes with a pink, clamshell eyewear case with a breast cancer ribbon at the closure. Faith is available in one size, 58/17/125, with Sola CR-39 UV 400 plano lenses as standard and wholesales for $54.99.

To support optical retailers who commit to the program, ECPs will be offered a pink BCBG Max Azria Faith countercard, which explains to customers how their Faith sunglass purchase will benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

“As a designer, I aim to offer women style that inspires confidence and beauty,” says Max Azria. “With our Faith sunglasses, I now have the opportunity to contribute to their physical and spiritual well-being. We are honored to work with and support Susan G. Komen for the Cure in their ongoing battle to raise awareness and find the cures for breast cancer.”
