MARCHON ACQUIRES SCANDINAVIAN EYEWEAR
Marchon Eyewear announces the acquisition of Swedish eyewear company Scandinavian Eyewear. Established in 1948, Scandinavian Eyewear has been a leader in the Nordic region. Scandinavian Eyewear’s collections include the proprietary brand SKAGA, Oscar Jacobson, Pilgrim, Lexington and FACE Stockholm, as well as collaborations with renowned Swedish designers Oscar Magnuson and Efva Attling. The acquisition will allow Marchon to penetrate the prominent share the company has in the Scandinavian market and broaden the distribution of proprietary and licensed brands worldwide.

L’AMY SIGNS WITH ANN TAYLOR
Ann Taylor, a division of ANN, Inc., has signed its first ever licensing agreement with L’Amy America for a collection of women’s sunglasses, ophthalmic frames and watches under the Ann Taylor label. L’Amy America, a division of global eyewear group TWC-L’AMY, will design, produce and distribute the products under a multiyear partnership agreement, also marking the first time the Ann Taylor brand will be sold beyond its own retail and e-commerce channels. The new Ann Taylor sunglass collection, scheduled to debut in May 2013 in all Ann Taylor stores throughout the U.S. and Canada, and on AnnTaylor.com, will consist of nine sunglasses. The complete eyewear line, including a selection of ophthalmic frames and high-end readers, will roll out to optical accounts in the U.S. beginning spring 2014. Designed in close partnership with Ann Taylor’s head of design Lisa Axelson, the new collections will capture the chic, sophisticated, timeless aesthetic of the Ann Taylor brand, synonymous with iconic style and fashion for modern working women.

FACE A FACE PRESENTS WOOW
Face a Face introduces WOOW, a chic, off-beat collection targeted to men and women with a sense of humor. Developed by the Face a Face Design Studio, the WOOW collection consists of 14 acetate styles and six metals, each available in six colors. The frames are characterized by monochromatic fronts and two-toned temples. The temple tips feature soft, rounded, metallic inserts covered by a thin layer of resin and inspired by antique typewriter keys. Each tip bears a humorous message such as “rock me,” “wake up” or “never mind.”

DANISH EYEWEAR DENMARK
BRINGS CLARITY TO U.S.

Danish Eyewear introduces Clarity, a rimless, titanium eyewear collection with a screwless hinge design to the U.S. market. Clarity is the newest addition to the Danish Eyewear Denmark collections that are distributed by Omaha, Neb.-based Mosaic Eyewear.
