Costa Del Mar takes a dive into Internet video by officially launching Channel C, an online video network dedicated to water sports and angling adventures. The site features original series from some of the biggest names in outdoor programming, such as ESPN2’s legendary anglers Jose Wejebe, host of “Spanish Fly” and Chris Fischer, host of “Offshore Adventures” and creator of “Wanna Go Fishing,” and Cindy Garrison, host of “Get Wild! With Cindy Garrison” on ESPN. Channel C spotlights original series from Wejebe and Fischer, original documentaries from Costafari Films, which produces short films about Costa Del Mar’s outdoor adventures, and user-submitted films.

Wejebe’s Channel C series, called “The Road Less Traveled,” takes viewers on a journey from shore to sea and back again, leaving no stone unturned. “‘The Road Less Traveled’ is a series that captures the true adventure spirit,” says Wejebe. “It’s a little about fishing and diving, and a lot about doing things that are totally off the beaten path.”

Fischer’s Channel C series, “Beneath the Surface,” presents the Go Fisch team, popularized in ESPN2’s “Offshore Adventures.” The group includes Chris Fischer, his wife, Melissa, and Captain Brett McBride. “There’s so much going on out on the water, and we can only show so much of it in a 30-minute cable show,” says Fischer. “Channel C means people can get the full experience of being on the ocean with us.”

Costafari Films will also debut three films on Channel C in 2007: “Galapagos: Islands of Discovery,” “Wild Florida” and “U. of Blue,” starring Cindy Garrison as she tours university campuses across the country.

In addition to original programming, the site will show user-submitted videos of extreme water sports, fishing expeditions and other outdoor adventures. Members of Costa Del Mar’s pro fishing and water sports staff will also provide video of behind-the-scenes tournament footage and commentary.

“One of our key goals is to inspire others to get out and enjoy the outdoor world,” says Chas MacDonald, president of Costa Del Mar. “If you experience it, you’ll want to protect it. We hope Channel C will not only be a primary destination for those who want to see unique and exciting outdoor programming, but also a forum for our customers to share their adventure videos.”
