It was a double shot for Emilio Pucci. The Marchon brand was honored recently with two special design awards. The Accessories Council recognized Pucci with a Hall of Fame Award, while the Emilio Pucci Eyewear sun style EP629S won the Silmo D’Or award for Style & Design.

Honoring those who have made a significant contribution to the accessories industry, the 2008 ACE Awards were held recently in New York. Honorees were nominated and voted on by their peers in the accessory industry, retailers, the Accessories Council Board of Directors and fashion press. The Hall of Fame Award acknowledged Pucci’s 60 years of innovative fashion.

The Silmo D’Or is given to the best design of the year and is voted on by fellow eyewear designers. Boldly proclaiming Pucci design, EP629S’s classic shape is energized by the exhilarating prints that fully wrap around the thick zyl temples. Each sun style is artfully designed in a medley of colors—ebony, brown, sand and turquoise. Silmo, the Parisian optical exhibition, took place during the fall at the Porte de Versailles Convention Center.

“Sunglasses have always been an intrinsic part of our brand identity,” says Laudomia Pucci, vice president, image director of Emilio Pucci show here with Marchon’s Al Berg. “I am happy we have found great partners with Marchon to help execute Pucci’s vision.”
