After taking a close look at the staggering statistics—780 million people cannot read or write and 77 million children grow up without a school education—Humphrey’s eyewear developed a charity glasses donation campaign to provide individuals with one of the basic fundamentals needed for learning: good vision. For each pair of the stylish, round frames sold, Humphrey’s, through its distributor, Eschenbach Optik, will donate one pair of glasses to the German Red Cross. Currently people in need of assistance are helped by the organization at more than 50 social and medical centers. Featured in the campaign’s advertising is Mieze Katz, lead singer for the German band MIA and advocate for Greenpeace, Amnesty International and other charities. BBH Eyewear is the U.S. distributor of Eschenbach product, including Humphrey’s glasses.
