Neochromes® Light Activated Lenses

Photochromic lenses are under 20% of the lenses dispensed but contain close to 50% of the value. It is part of IOT’s mission to provide our partners with an independent solution for this very important value-added category.

IOT Digital Ray-Path® 2 Technology

In recent years, the rise of customized lenses has resulted in substantial improvement of the optical quality of millions of lenses that are prescribed worldwide. More and more professionals offer customized lenses to their patients, implying that they increasingly trust the technology behind them.

Manufacturing Errors Trial

A double masked wearer trial was carried out to evaluate the effect of the lenses manufacturing quality in the visual performance. All participants compared the same lens design with and without induced errors during the manufacturing process.

Near Vision Area Without Binocular Distortions in Personalized Free-Form Progressive Lenses with an Increasing Curvature Frontal Base Curve

The ideal optical base curve for each dioptric is represented in the Tscherning Ellipse: a graphical representation of the frontal surface power according to the total lens power in the best-form lenses.

Influence of Near Overcorrection in Subjective Satisfaction in Wearers of Progressive Addition Lenses

Conventional front sided Progressive Power Lenses (PPLs) introduced oblique aberrations as wearers looked through areas of the lens that were away from the optical center. In particular, oblique aberrations at the near reference point (NRP) of the lens, an area that is quite relevant for presbyope PPL wearers, resulted in unwanted cylinder and an effectively higher add than required by the wearers at that point.

Influence of Mean Power Distribution in Subject PPL Wearers Satisfaction

The gradual increase of power from the top to the bottom of a progressive lens lead to a blur in the peripheral areas of the lens. This blur is characterized by a spherocylindrical power inherent to the geometry of these kind of lenses.

Mesopic Visual Function Attained by Lenses Specifically Designed for Night Driving

Driving is a complex task that requires specific visual skills and optimal vision to clearly see and react to traffic signals, traffic lights, pedestrians and other vehicles.

Areas of Progressive Lens Used for Reading Computer Screens

It is assumed that PPL users tend to mostly use the corridor area of the lens for reading at intermediate distances. But, other areas designed for distance or near vision can also be used depending on prescribed addition, accommodation amplitude and working distances.
