Davis Vision employees helped construct a Habitat for Humanity house in Roosevelt, N.Y., recently.

PLAINVIEW, N.Y.--Davis Vision employees at the company’s headquarters here recently picked up hammers, nails and saws to help build a Habitat for Humanity house on Long Island.

“Davis Vision is delighted to be a part of Habitat for Humanity’s extraordinary mission,” said Laura Dyer, Davis Vision’s assistant vice president, strategic events and community relations. ”We are also very proud of the time and hard work that our community-minded employees have contributed to this project.”

The Habitat for Humanity project not only will result in a new home for the family of Frances Brown this fall, but it also has offered Davis Vision volunteers a particularly enriching experience, according to Dyer. “Even though we give back to the community on a regular basis, this undertaking was very special,” she said. “We at Davis Vision are already looking forward to supporting another Habitat for Humanity project this October in New Orleans.”
