NORWALK, Conn.--Show organizers will install the Association of Regulatory Boards of Optometry (ARBO) new OE Tracker program at the upcoming International Vision Expo West making it available for the first time to all Expo conferees.

ARBO’s OE Tracker will supply attending optometrists with a qualified informational method to track their outstanding hours and renewal status, and what is required of them to renew their licenses. They will be able to access their current CE status with an OE Tracker card which will be mailed upon registration to the OE Tracker program. As conferees attend Expo West conference sessions, their record of CE attendance will be transferred to a central site and posted electronically following attendance. State Boards will also be able to access and record attendance and confirm practitioners’ State Board CE requirements via the same site.

“As the profession’s leading continuing education provider, Expo West is pleased to work with ARBO and offer this new technology to our conference attendees,” said John Moriarty, International Vision Expo’s event director. “Registering for the OE Tracker technology will help our attending professionals review their current status so they can make the most informed decisions on their continuing education requirements. We highly encourage all conferees to participate.” Depending on conferee feedback at the upcoming Vegas Show, organizers may make the OE Tracker a permanent function at all International Vision Expo events beginning in 2006.

“With renewal status and continuing education posted by date completed, the OE Tracker program creates an efficient and immediate continuing education verification process for both practitioners and their state boards,” said Bob Sorrell, OD, chairman of data and information for ARBO. Having the OE Tracker available at one of the profession’s most renowned professional platforms makes perfect sense, and we look forward to offering this benefit to our practice in tandem with International Vision Expo.”

Optometrists may register for the CE tracker card in advance of Expo West via the ARBO web site at www.arbo.org, or they may register for the card on-site at the OE tracker kiosk in the Expo West registration area.
