AUSTIN, Texas--Industry Internet portal VisionWeb and MSF Computing, provider of IFILE, CFILE, and Vision + practice management software, have agreed that users of these systems can now order prescription spectacle lenses to their labs using VisionWeb technology.

VisionWeb and MSF Computing have created a seamless interface allowing users to place and track spectacle lens orders from within the IFILE, CFILE, and Vision + software.

“We are pleased to offer IFILE, CFILE, and Vision + customers the ability to place spectacle lens orders electronically to the VisionWeb network of over 210 U.S. spectacle lens laboratories,” said Mike O’Malley vice president of business development for VisionWeb.

MSF Computing’s IFILE, CFILE, and Vision + systems serve different customers and offer different features for optometrists and opticians. IFILE offers a practice-management system for ODs, including appointment scheduling, paperless examinations, inventory control, order entry recording and automatic invoicing and others. The CFILE system, for opticians and optical stores, includes full inventory control, order entry and automatic invoicing, electronic ordering to labs and electronic claims submissions, among other features.

The Vision + system is a pre-packaged version of the CFILE system that provides a point-of-sale software system for opticians at a lower cost.

Said Scott Farley, owner of Kitchener, Ontario-based MSF Computing. “Our integration with VisionWeb will allow our customers to reduce redundant data entry and streamline the process for placing spectacle lens orders to their labs.”

IFILE, CFILE, and Vision + customers may also file insurance claim reimbursements with VisionWeb’s online insurance claim processing service, VisionWeb Enhanced. All three systems create an HIPAA-compliant HCFA file that can be directly uploaded and submitted through VisionWeb Enhanced, allowing the customer to avoid re-keying any claim information.
