NEW YORK—The SUNY College of Optometry has appointed Richard J. Madonna, OD as the new chair of the department of clinical education.

Madonna, chosen after a nationwide search, has already been heavily involved with the institution. As an alumnus, associate professor, and the director of continuing education, as well as a former service chief in ocular disease, director of clinical education, and president of the faculty executive committee, Madonna is expected to continue his history of leadership and dedication to the school.

Vice president and Dean of Academic Affairs David Troilo, OD said, “I look forward to continuing to work with Dr. Madonna on faculty and curriculum development in clinical education at the College and at our externship sites, as well as expanding our efforts in clinical education.”
