MILAN—Organizers of Mido report that they have made a decision to change the dates of the 2013 Mido International Optics Optometry and Ophthalmology exhibition to March 2, 3 and 4, the first weekend of the month, with the show to be held on Saturday through Monday.

In a post on Mido 365, Cirillo Marcolin, president of Mido and ANFAO, the Italian manufacturers association, said that the change, from previously-stated dates of March 8 through 10, was made “in light of an assessment of the international fair, a comparison among all companies and a reflection on the results of Mido 2012.”

He said, citing an analysis of the 2012 Mido fair’s attendance and discussions with exhibitors, "We return to the classic first weekend of the month starting Saturday and ending Monday. This is a strategic choice, the result of a necessary assessment of the fair scene, national and international, as well as the response to a request of both exhibitors and visitors to the feedback from the last edition.”

The previously-announced 2013 dates of International Vision Expo East in New York City are March 15 through 17, for the exhibition, with the continuing education of VEE running Thurs. March 14 through Sunday March 17.
