Quick Take:
Bevel has added new styles for spring, some of which feature the company’s patent-pending beta hinge design.
Specifics: 16 new styles, including ophthalmic and sun, across the acetate and titanium collections.
Selling Points: After two years of development, Bevel has launched a full beta-hinge/temple design, the next level of their titanium flex hinge, on an acetate frame. The patent-pending, one-piece beta hinge is carried thru the core of the temple which allows for flexibility while continuing the companies “notchdesign element” from their previous titanium collections. New releases include five new acetate styles, five new shapes, three of which include the new beta hinge. In total, there are two men’s styles, two women’s and one small unisex style. In titanium there are six new styles; one small man’s, one petite woman’s, three medium women’s and one small semi-rimless style. There are five new sun styles, four for women in shiny acetate and one for men in ultra-matte acetate. All sun styles are come with polarized CR 39 lenses with inside AR coating. From a color perspective, greens are the inspiration for summer (although purple crops up as usual) and marks a conscious move away from the Earth tones of fall towards an optimistic flourish of brighter colors.
