LAS VEGAS— The Alliance Buying Group, in partnership with SightNation has launched the Alliance Supergroup social media page. During a membership meeting here at Vision Expo, Bill Scott, vice president, Group Publisher and Head of Research for Jobson Medical Information’s Optical Group, presented the new features of the SightNation Supergroup which will offer The Alliance members the ability to collaborate through this platform.

According to Scott, the mission of the Alliance SightNation Supergroup will be to build Alliance membership groups across all segments of the optical industry and eyecare fields through the open exchange of news, information, resources, discussion and other user-generated content. The Supergroup site will allow Alliance members to work and communicate together on real issues affecting their practice and optical industry.

Additional features will allow members to link up with other ECPs across the U.S. to share thoughts, ideas and clinical experiences. The site will provide on-going vendor promotions, updates on vendor product releases; connection to Alliance’s other social media sites, career and employment services, educational opportunities and many other resources to help enrich services at the practice level.

The Alliance is one of the largest group purchasing organizations in the eyecare industry. Serving over 3,000 members, its goal is to provide the independent ECPs savings on optical products and services by leveraging their group buying power.
