PINELLAS PARK, Fla.—Transitions Optical, Inc. has announced that nominations are now being accepted for the 2011 Transitions Retailer of the Year award.

Entrants must submit a nomination form, a brief PowerPoint presentation and an optional binder to detail their accomplishments and results. All nominations are due by November 5, 2011. The company said that both national retailers (175 or more locations) and regional retailers (4-174 locations) “who are committed to encouraging healthy sight through superior vision care offerings” are eligible to enter.

The company added that nominees will be judged on several factors, including overall growth of Transitions lenses; efforts to support the Transitions brand through marketing programs and promotions; quality of education provided to optical employees; efforts to promote healthy sight in their local community, and support and involvement with public service programs; and an overall commitment to educating customers about the importance of healthy sight and benefits of Transitions lenses.

According to Transitions, the top three finalists in each category will be announced in December and receive a trip for two to the 16th annual Transitions Academy along with Transitions Optical-branded apparel. Additionally, one national and one regional Retailer of the Year will be named during the Transitions Academy, to be held January 29-31, 2012 at the Rosen Shingle Creek in Orlando, Fla.

The winning national and regional retailers will also receive valuable prizes, Transitions said, including a trip for two to the 2012 Transitions Championship PGA Tour event, in March; up to $7,500 to allocate toward a staff-wide celebration; plus use of the Transitions Retailer of the Year logo and comprehensive marketing and public relations support throughout the year.
