SAN DIEGO, Calif.—Shamir Insight is expanding the availability of its Freeform lenses by allowing optical laboratories equipped with Crizal coating technology from Essilor to produce and coat the lenses. Previously available on Shamir semi-finished products, Crizal is now available to order with all Shamir products, the company announced today.

“Any lab that has a Crizal coating unit can now produce Shamir products, including our Freeform lines Autograph II, Spectrum and Element, including many independent labs and Essilor Laboratories of America (ELOA),” Raanan Naftalovich, president of Shamir Insight, told VMail.

“We continue to push toward ensuring that our products are compatible with a wide variety of coatings and widely available to ECPs who continue to demand them,” said Naftalovich. “Each coating provides the patient a different advantage, allowing eyecare professionals to offer more choices, according to the patient’s needs.

“Many of our partner labs currently using Crizal coatings can now enjoy this approved status and all the benefits that go along with it,” he continued. “This coating announcement expands upon our already existent coating partnerships with leading providers such as Hoya, Zeiss and iCoat.”

Shamir’s Autograph II line includes Autograph II, Autograph II – Attitude, Autograph II – Office, Autograph II – Single Vision, and Autograph II – Single Vision Attitude.
