LAS VEGAS—The Foundation for Eye Health Awareness announced yesterday that it has signed an agreement with the Think About Your Eyes (TAYE) Coalition setting out the plan for the Coalition to transfer the assets and efforts associated with the Think About Your Eyes campaign for the Foundation. The agreement builds on the Letter of Intent between the two parties, signed in March of this year.

Speaking at a morning press conference, Mike Daley, president and executive director of the Foundation for Eye Health Awareness, said the agreement covers an agreed upon plan and budget for 2011 and 2012, binding funding pledges sufficient to fulfill the plan and budget, staffing resources and a business plan. Daley said the Foundation will be seeking to at least match the $12.5 million the TAYE Coalition has raised to date for the public awareness campaign about eye health that has been running in nine U.S. markets this year. “We want to go national with the campaign,” said Daley.

Daley presented statistics showing that the campaign boosted public awareness levels of the campaign’s primary message of the importance of having regular eye exams to promote good eye health. He said the message will be broadened next year to stress the importance of having regular eye exams in promoting overall health.
