CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.—National Optronics is releasing software to assist owners of the National Optronics 7E edger in the production of Chemistrie Sunlenses by Eyenovate.

The software to assist in the production of Chemistrie Sunlenses is available for new or existing 7E edgers with drilling capabilities.
Chemistrie Sunlenses incorporate patented technology that addresses the needs of the magnetic sunwear market. The design and manufacturing process embeds miniature magnets inside the polarized prescription lens, resulting in a self-aligning fit in which the base curve of the sunlens matches that of the prescription lens behind it.

“This is a great opportunity for customers of National Optronics 7E edgers with drilling capabilities,” said Kevin Paddy, director of business development of National Optronics. “Both new and existing 7E users have been asking for this feature and through the cooperation of Eyenovate and National Optronics, we’re able to fulfill this customer request. The software enhancement will create the opportunity for an additional revenue stream for 7E owners.”

The software to assist in the production of Chemistrie Sunlenses is available for new or existing 7E edgers with drilling capabilities. Non-drilling capable 7E’s can be upgraded with both the necessary hardware and software.
