MAHWAH, N.J.—Seiko Optical Products of America is introducing finished 1.74 MX SuperClean and semi-finished 1.74 MX hardcoat single-vision lenses.

Seiko is adding the MX SuperClean and MX hardcoat to its line of single vision 1.74 lenses, which also includes 1.74 FSV with Transitions.
“Our new finished and semi-finished 1.74 products are a high-performance, affordable alternative to other, more expensive 1.74 lenses,” said Mike Rybacki, Seiko Optical’s senior vice president of sales and marketing. “They use Seiko’s patented and proven MX aspheric design, which includes a spherical fitting button in the center, and feature a factory applied AR coating with SuperClean, a super-hydrophobic topcoat that protects the lens and makes them easier to keep clean.

Rybacki noted that the 1.74 semi-finished lenses feature Seiko’s new high-index HDC4 hardcoat, which includes a shock absorbing primer and extra-thick hardcoat and an extra-large range that is sufficient for the majority of prescriptions.

The finished 1.74 MX AR lens is available in plus spheres from +2.00 to +6.00 (out to -2.00 cyl.), and in minus spheres from -2.00 to -10.00, (out to -3.00 cyl), and in half-diopter steps from -10.50 to -15.00. The semi-finished range is from +10.00 to -15.00, out to a -4.00 cylinder (total power -15.00D).
