NEW YORK—“Social Climbing: How The New Media Can Transform Your Practice” is the topic of the first CLICK Conference, to be held from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 7, in Las Vegas at the Venetian just prior to the opening of Vision Expo West. The CLICK Conference will bring together experts from the eyecare field who’ll share perspectives on the powerful role social media is playing today.

The CLICK Conference, sponsored exclusively by Hoya Vision Care, is the inaugural live event for Vision Monday’s successful e-newsletter, CLICK (go to VMNewsletters on visionmonday.com).

Joining the roster of featured speakers at the Conference is Brad Childs, executive vice president and COO of Eyetique, the 7-unit Pittsburgh optical boutique.

Other speakers include Nathan Bonilla-Warford, OD, FAAO, of Bright Eyes Family Vision Care, Tampa, Fla., an optometrist specializing in the vision of infants and children. Bonilla-Warford is a social media evangelist who created “Peripheral Vision,” an organization with a mission to educate eyecare professionals about social media.

Also featured is Kelly Kerksick, OD, Director of Professional Services, Vision Source. Kerksick travels frequently speaking to doctors around the country about technology and new media. She was also one of Vision Monday’s “Most Influential Women in Optical” Rising Stars in 2009.

The CLICK Conference’s keynote speaker is John Garnin, West Coast sales for YELP.com ( www.yelp.com) one of the fastest-growing and influential companies which has transformed the web landscape via social media customer feedback and reviews of products and services in a range of fields, including eyecare.
