LOS ANGELES--Oliver Peoples will re-release three of its classic styles in a limited edition run.

The Oliver People’s vintage re-release of the classic O’Malley with limited edition frame cloth and case.
“When I uncovered my personal archive of original Oliver Peoples designs, the response was overwhelming,” said Larry Leight, Oliver Peoples founder and creative director. “I didn’t have enough to satisfy all of our accounts and loyal clientele so we decided to reach out to the same Japanese factory that produced the originals and see what we could do.”

The inquiry paid off. The OP-505, created in tort plastic with filigreed metal temple details, was the brand’s first frame in 1987. The Limited Edition Re-Release will be available as an optical style in three of the original colors.

The 1955 was designed in 1988 and featured a rounded oval lens shape and metal filigree bridge with contrasting temple. The Re-Release will be an optical style in four of the original colors.

The O’Malley was a handmade acetate frame inspired by the glasses worn by Los Angeles Dodgers’ former owner, Peter O’Malley. This design, originally introduced in 1988, was worn as both an optical frame and a sunglass and the Re-Release, available as an optical or sun, will include five of the original colors.
