PARIS – The TWC Group, one of the largest fashion accessories companies in France, has purchased the L’Amy Group S.A, the international eyewear company with a 200-year history in the business.

Details of the transaction have not been disclosed.

Headed by Aymeric Chaumet, the TWC Group manufactures and markets watches, handbags and jewelry under various brands, including licensed names, in France, Germany and the Middle East.

“The acquisition of the L’Amy Group will bring enhanced financial strength to the company and will further enhance the group’s opportunities to acquire key brand names and develop a wider product offering,” Chaumet said.

Stephen Rappoport, L’Amy America’s president, told VMail, “This positive new development with the TWC Group will continue to help drive L’Amy America’s main financial objectives and help support its acquisition of future dynamic brands.”

Rappoport added, “We will continue to develop and enhance our current brand portfolio, including Chloe, Nina Ricci, Proenza Schouler, Columbia Sportswear, Pacific Trail, Theory and our stable of house collections in the North American optical and non-optical markets, as well as expanding our international presence with Columbia Sportswear.”

L’Amy Group S.A. is a major international supplier and distributor of ophthalmic frames and sunwear. Its involvement in eyewear dates back to the late 18th century, when the company began to produce eyeglass frames in Morez, in the Jura region of France.
