LAS VEGAS—Keeping up with the changing landscape of the optical industry, International Vision Expo West has introduced several new continuing education programs this year. Top speakers from around the country are planning to gather at the show to share their insights into the hot topics of the optical industry. New courses at International Vision Expo West include:

Visionomics: Premiered at International Vision Expo East to rave reviews, Visionomics heads west delivering 25 hours of economy-based programs with a focus on strong business principles. The courses deliver actionable strategies to help eyecare professionals identify business opportunities, increase efficiencies and build loyalty among their practice base. As part of the program, a free keynote speech by Paul Tiffany of the Haas School of the University of California, Berkeley will be held in the Medical and Scientific Theater on Thursday, Oct. 1 at 12:00 p.m.

Free Health Care Reform Keynote: In light of the current healthcare reform, a keynote presentation will be held to discuss what the Obama White House and Department of Health and Human Services have in store for health care reform. This presentation will occur on Friday, Oct. 2 at 5:00 p.m. in the Medical and Scientific Theatre.

Social Networking Classes: Two social networking classes will be held at International Vision Expo West to help attendees untangle the new media network. The workshops—“Social Networking 101: What the Tweet is Facebook?” and “Cracking the Social Networking Code to Generate New Business”—are geared for eyecare professionals who want to get themselves and their practice up to speed with social networking.

Ocular Surface Society of Optometry: Session debut for comprehensive dry eye diagnosis and treatment strategies.

Lunch With the Experts: The Conference Advisory Board will hold a roundtable session on Friday, Oct. 2 from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. to discuss current issues in an intimate environment. Topics will include contact lenses, advanced PAL designs, lab technology and spectacle lens designs, materials and coatings.
