NEW YORK— Solstice Sunglass Boutique celebrated the official start of summer with a kick off celebration at their Flatiron location on June 24.

The sunglass specialty retailer held a reception to announce its plan to donate 100 percent of the net proceeds from the sale of a specially designed Solstice beach tote sold in all U.S. Solstice Sunglass Boutique locations for the entire month of June to The Climate Project. The non-profit organization was founded by Al Gore to increase public awareness of the global climate crisis.

In addition to press, attendees included Kirsten Dalton, Miss USA 2009, Jill Zarin of Bravo’s Real Housewives of New York television series and Erin Lucas of MTV’s reality show, “The City,” who enjoyed cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and the opportunity to pick a pair of sunglasses. ■
