LAKELAND, Tenn.—The Opticians Association of America, which will elect nine of its 12 directors at this year’s National Opticians Convention, is seeking nominations for those seats on the OAA board. Included among the positions to be elected is a new association president.

The deadline for nominations is July 12; the nomination form and OAA nomination policy are available on the organization’s Web site at www.oaa.org. The National Opticians Convention is scheduled for Sept. 10 through 12 in Cincinnati.

The OAA Web site was recently revamped to add more information for opticians, including a new State News page to keep members up-to-date on what the various state optician organizations are doing. The site has also added a section called Useful Tools for state associations, including sample press releases, model legislation and other aids to help state opticianry groups communicate.

Also new on the Web site are the registration form and hotel information for next year’s 25th anniversary OAA state leadership conference, to be held in Memphis Jan. 21 through 23.
