CINCINNATI—LCA-Vision (Nasdaq: LCAV) founder Stephen Joffe, MD, who launched a takeover attempt of the company earlier this year, has now sold more than half of his stake in the refractive surgery company, according to a filing last week with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Joffe sold just over 612,000 shares in LCA-Vision between April 22 and April 29, for $3.2 million; as of that date he retained just under 600,000 additional shares in the company.
