NEW YORK—This year’s International Vision Expo Continuing Education program will once again be offering attendees a wide range of courses including the addition of some new CE sessions. Courses and programming for Vision Expo East are selected with the assistance of the Conference Advisory Board, comprised of leading ophthalmologists, optometrists and opticians to provide current course content for all industry professionals. The board strives to provide attendees with seminars and courses that will supply them with new knowledge and skills they can take away from the conference to help them further their careers and practices. The conference portion of Expo will be offered from March 26 to 29. The following new CE courses will be offered at this year’s Expo:

Visionomics: In an immediate response to the current economic situation, International Vision Expo East has created nine hours of programming as part of its Business Institute titled “Visionomics.” The programming includes two keynote speakers and five courses that will deliver actionable strategies to help eyecare professionals identify business opportunities, increase efficiencies and build loyalty among their practice base. See story, this page.

Management Academy: This workshop is offered for attendees looking to enhance their interpersonal skills with
co-workers and clients to lead to a higher level of performance for themselves and their business.

Allied Health Personnel Education: International Vision Expo East will offer allied health personnel education for the first time in 2009. The track includes eight hours of continuing education courses for ophthalmic technicians and those who need to renew their licensure for JCAHPO.

Lunch with the Experts
:
The Conference Advisory Board for International Vision Expo East will hold a “Lunch with the Experts” roundtable session on Saturday, March 28, from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., to discuss current issues in an intimate environment. Topics will include freeform and wavefront technology, sales and management, Medicare coding and more.

To ensure that several individuals from the same practice location can attend the International Vision Expo East conference economically, a variety of money-saving pricing packages will be offered once again this year.

Total Office Packages are designed to accommodate several individuals from the same practice and make it affordable for doctors to bring their staff. These packages offer education in 25-, 35-, and 45-hour increments. When selecting a Total Office Package, all registrants must register at the same time and use the same company name and address. Standard Pricing Packages will be offered in 6-, 9-, 13-, and 18- hour increments, along with a la carte session options.

All continuing education (CE) registrations include free admission to the exhibits; admission to the conference attendee lounge and the CE registration processing fee. Costs of the sessions vary, and some sessions are not part of pricing packages. Additional hours can be added to both the Total Office and Standard Pricing packages for $35 per hour.
