PLAINVILLE, Mass.—The Hilsinger Company (Hilco) has acquired Pittsburgh-based C-Clear, a manufacturer of branded and private label lens care products for industrial safety use.

“C-Clear is a great fit for Hilco and for our customers, as it strengthens both our lens care and industrial safety product offerings,” said Bob Nahmias, president of Hilco. “Hilco customers who rely on us for lens care products now have access to lower cost towelettes, a great profit generator. And, our OnGuard safety eyewear customers can profit from new lens care products and other accessories designed specifically for their industrial customers.”

C-Clear’s product line features innovative, self-service lens cleaning stations that are designed for both worker convenience and cost effectiveness, the company pointed out in its announcement. C-Clear manufactures more than 100 million lens cleaning towelettes annually for this purpose.

The C-Clear operations have been integrated into Hilco’s Plainville, Mass. headquarters, while Greg Gallaway, C-Clear’s president, has joined Hilco as a sales manager.
