LAKE FOREST, Calif.—N3L Optics, the new sunglass retail concept kicked off last spring by Luxottica Group’s (NYSE: LUX) Oakley division, now has its own Web site, www.N3LOptics.com.

The site is designed to create “an online destination for athletes and outdoor enthusiasts to discover the latest in sport performance optics,” according to an N3L announcement.

“Our commitment to customer education has been the inspiration behind N3LOptics.com,” said Kendra Reichenau, senior vice president for N3L Optics. “As an authentic sport performance sunglass retailer, we are in a unique position to help each customer make informed buying decisions that will improve the overall enjoyment of their sport.”

The Web site allows visitors to sort sunwear styles by “environment,” “sport,” “brand” and “technology.” In the Environment section, visitors can utilize N3L’s lens simulator to determine which lens will deliver the desired level of performance through 10 unique outdoor environments, each with varying light conditions.

N3L Optics opened its first “sport performance sunglass retail store” near Denver in May 2008, then added locations in El Paso, Texas, and San Mateo, Calif. Expansion plans this year call for new N3L locations to open at the Mall at Millenia in Orlando, Fla., next month, as well as in Dallas, San Francisco and Las Vegas, the announcement said.
