“This is part of a program that we are presenting to optical laboratories and select buying groups.” said Cornelius Daly, vice president of sales and marketing for Merchamp USA. “We have several excellent labs carrying the line right now and expanding the line is part of our on-going strategy to further develop specific market segments.”

According to the company, the Marco polarized collection targets a gap in the marketplace by offering consumers an affordable prescription ready frame without asking them to compromise on style or quality. Using quality materials, such as Mazzucchelli acetates, many of the frames are hand finished.

The line is being presented as an exclusive 21-piece collection to a limited group of optical laboratories in the U.S. as a way to provide them with an excellent opportunity for these labs to generate additional new Rx sales, according to Marco.

The new styles in the Marco polarized collection is priced from $40 to $50 wholesale, depending on the lens option.
