CUMMING, Ga.—Briot USA, based here, has installed a new management team. The team is headed by Tom Pfleging, who serves as president. He replaces Bret Davis, who has left the company.

Pfleging, a German national, brings more than 25 years of international experience in the optical industry to Briot USA, having worked for major retailers, distributors and manufacturers in the US, UK and Germany. He joined the Buchmann Optical Holding (BOH) Group in 2005 as general manager of Briot/Weco Canada. Briot USA is a wholly owned subsidary of Belgium-based BOH. Prior to joining BOH, Pfleging held senior positions with distribution, retail and wholesale companies.

“We are excited to have Thomas on board,” said Daniel Peyrot, director, Briot International: “Through his experience and understanding of the optical industry, especially the lens edger business, he will provide the leadership and vision needed to help grow Briot USA.”

Wanda Crawford has been appointed vice president of finance for Briot USA. A Canadian national, Crawford joined the BOH Group as CFO of Brio/Weco Canada in 2004. Prior to BOH, Wanda held senior positions as CFO in manufacturing, construction and holding companies. She has extensive international experience having worked with European and U.S. companies.

In addition, John Hemphill has been promoted to vice president of sales, and Andrew Bumerts has been named national sales trainer. Hemphill brings more than 14 years of experience in the optical industry to Briot USA. Prior to joining the company, he spent seven years as a territory sales manager for a finishing equipment company and several years in the wholesale lab market as well as in retail.

Bumerts has been in the optical industry since 1974. Prior to joining Briot USA, he owned a wholesale lab in California.
