GERMANTOWN, Wis.--Satisloh is introducing the VFT-Orbit, a compact, high-speed generator, at International Vision Expo West. Engineered for processing all-format lenses, the VFT-Orbit’s throughput is hefty while its size is streamlined and compact, making it an easy addition to any size lab, according to Satisloh. The VFT-Orbit produces up to 100 lenses per hour in “cut to polish” mode and generates both conventional and free-form surfaces, which is 15 percent to 25 percent faster than Satisloh’s VFT-Ultra and weighs 30 percent less.

The new VFT-Orbit combines the voice coil-actuated technology used in Satisloh’s VFT generating line with its Circumvolution Technology--an innovative orbital aligned tool and axis layout. With this new tool arrangement, the VFT-Orbit has a compact footprint which is the same size as Satisloh’s VPro. The circular tool arrangement allows for smoother, faster transitions between processing steps, resulting in increased throughput while maintaining error-free surface geometry, according to Satisloh.
