A Day In The Life of a 20/20 Editor

During our first stop of the day, eye can’t resist the chance to share these luminous crystal Leisure Society frames with our social media followers. “Frame your face in phosphorescence @Leisuresociety,” I tweeted to @2020mag followers.

I was lucky enough to meet THREE-time Olympic gold medalist Misty May-Treanor at the Marchon booth, the down-to-earth setting and spiking Nike superstar. She even came equipped to brighten the pic with her latest haul, a 2012 London gold medal for epic accomplishments in beach volleyball.

Designer L’wren Scott floored us again, this time at the Eastern States Eyewear booth in the Galleria with frames crafted of ribbon-wrapped lenses and grosgrain-tied temples for some of the most unique ways to shade I’ve laid my eyes on.

These lovely sunnies are uber-versatile, and we certainly enjoyed getting creative, styling them as an easy breezy headband and sunwear stashing like I’ve never seen before... around the waist for a “sun belt” with a chic hip-height allusion to a neat, feminine bow.

One of my favorite moments of the day… not only am I wearing bright orange aviators (one half of my favorite color combination... orange and maroon), I’m also being professionally sketched by a digital illustrator who captured 20/20 in fabulous Michael Kors sunwear at the Marchon booth. Check out the illustrator’s take on me and my team.

After leaving our post as Michael Kors models (if only!), Managing Editor Christine Yeh and I had the pleasure of meeting our March cover guy and celeb designer, John Varvatos, who signed the 20/20 March cover for us.

Every Vision Expo, Christine and I record EyeCandy, a special trend video appearing in Reporter’s Notebook next month. We’re just getting set up here at the Kenmark booth, fitted and ready to shine for the cameras with a little help from Kenmark chief creative officer David Duralde, and the incredibly bold and elegant sunwear of Vera Wang.

You can’t have a seriously great video without stirring up a few smiles before.

Our talented camera team attempts to get a few still shots (if I could only keep still!) after another successful EyeCandy video recording.

Off to a fitting at one of our faves... Lafont. We had this winner picked within seconds of sitting down.

Christine and I pose at Safilo’s Expo soiree at its new showroom debut ready to mix and mingle with our eyewear industry friends.

The evening didn’t end there; we stopped by the Optical Women’s Association 15th Anniversary Celebration with Vogue Italia, and met up with fellow Jobsonites Courtney Murphy, Amanda Austin and Nogah Jones.

We finished off the night toasting to the new Armani/Luxottica eyewear partnership at the brand’s flagship Fifth Avenue store.
