1 SAFILO has appointed Stephen Wright as its new chief commercial officer of Safilo North America. Henri Blomqvist, who has lead the development in North America for the last two years, has left the company to pursue other interests.

3  MODO has announced that its COO Rebecca Giefer has been made a partner. Giefer has served in various roles throughout her time with the company in customer service, sales and operations.

4  MARCOLIN GROUP and Swiss luxury brand Bally have signed an exclusive worldwide license agreement for the design, production and distribution of sunglasses and optical frames for women and men with the Bally brand through December 2023, with a potential renewal for another four years.

5  SOM EYEWEAR and the Aeronautica Militare have announced their collaboration by signing an exclusive license agreement for the production and distribution of an eyewear collection inspired by the military world of aeronautics.

6 KNOCKAROUND, a San Diego-based sunglass company, has announced the release of this year’s official Shark Week sunglasses in which a portion of the proceeds will be donated to Oceana in their ongoing effort to protect the world’s oceans. This is the brand’s fourth installment of its annual Shark Week collaboration with Discovery.
