1  SAFILO and Isabel Marant have announced a new global 10 year license agreement for the design, manufacture and distribution of Isabel Marant sunglasses and optical frames. The first collection will be launched with the spring/summer 2021 lines.

2  ESSILOR and The Fred Hollows Foundation have announced the expansion of the See Now campaign, fronted by celebrity ambassador Amitabh Bachchan, which aims to raise awareness of the importance of regular eye tests in the fight to combat poor vision and avoidable blindness.

3  EASTMAN, a global specialty plastics provider, has collaborated with Mazzucchelli 1849. Mazzucchelli will produce and sell acetate sheet made from Eastman Acetate Renew, a cellulose diacetate comprised of 60 percent bio-based and 40 percent certified recycled content.

4  CLEARVISION OPTICAL has been named one of the Best Companies to Work for in New York State for 2020.

5  WALMAN is giving away $20,000 to help independent eyecare practices reach their perfect vision, through its “My Perfect Vision in 2020 Makeover Sweepstakes.”

6  BARTON PERREIRA has made changes to reduce environmental impact and lessen its carbon footprint by creating cleaning cloths made of recycled PET bottles. The new cloths will feature artist Sage Vaughn’s iconic butterfly artwork.

9  ABB OPTICAL announced that ABB Contact Lens Specialty Vision Products is now a master distributor of Tangible Clean, a new FDA-approved daily cleaning and disinfecting solution recommended for custom contact lenses coated with Tangible Hydra-PEG, as well as other gas permeable or soft contact lenses.

10  HEALTHY EYES ADVANTAGE has announced enhanced partnership arrangements with the state optometric association in California, New Hampshire, New York and Virginia to increase support of the independent optometric profession in those states.

11  ESSILOR has pledged a first of its kind donation of one million glasses and sunglasses to the United Nations Road Safety Fund (UNRSF), as they partner to promote global action on good vision for road users.

12  VISION SOURCE and longtime member, Moes Nasser, OD, in collaboration with Optometry Giving Sight and the Tanzanian government are planning for the construction of two new optometric clinics in Northern Tanzania, tentatively scheduled to open later in 2020.

13  SAFILO has acquired a 61.34 percent equity interest in the Miami-based company Prive Goods, LLC (Prive Revaux).
