My fabulous fashionista millennial niece texted me a picture of her new eyeglass prescription last week. (What? Texted isn’t recognized as a verb?) It was a significant change as she moved from a low plus power for reading in graduate school to a low minus with astigmatism over the span of two years.

While I was thinking about her Rx change, she moved onto her new frames. She liked the “Warby Parker look.” I started thinking about the “Warby Parker look” and decided it was probably the heavy rectangular geek style. The thought that Warby Parker started a “look” bothered me because I believe “the look” came from numerous other places not to mention movies and celebrities and historical frame styles. I’m nearly positive our resident historical frame buff and Contributing Editor, Preston Fassel could set her straight in a new york minute.

I was relieved to hear she was ordering a pair of eyewear through her independent eye care professional.

What do you think?
