Developed to protect pilots’ eyes while flying, aviators were cool from takeoff and have been flying high ever since. From Tom Cruise in “Top Gun” to the prison guard in “Cool Hand Luke,” aviators have elevated movie characters to the next level of coolness, and they can do the same for less famous faces as well. The classic sunglass style is more popular than ever and has been reinterpreted as an ophthalmic frame in a variety of materials.
