Hello fellow Opticians. Thank you for visiting us at Pro to Pro, where opticians speak to opticians.

Let me introduce myself. I’m Deb Kotob, the new Director of Education and Training for 20/20. I’m truly amazed that my passion for optical education and training has lead me here, meeting the iconic voices of our industry as I walk the halls of Jobson Optical Group.

I follow in the footsteps of an industry legend, Mark Mattison-Shupnick. Anyone who has witnessed Mark present a course or enjoyed one of his continuing education courses in 20/20 magazine, will concur he is one of a kind and irreplaceable. I wish him all the best in his new endeavor at Enchroma.
In my new role I’ll be doing what I love while working with the immensely talented team at 20/20 and Jobson, including Linda Conlin our Managing Editor of Pro to Pro, to share the viewpoints, interests and challenges from an optician’s perspective.

Our Pro to Pro content is for you and about you. It is through Pro to Pro that we honor and celebrate you, the optician. Your feedback is invaluable and helps us tailor Pro to Pro and continuing education courses to our optician audience.

A bit about my story: Who knew that my journey as an optician would take me from optical boutique owner to over 10 years of developing and providing optical training and education, and instituting delivery platforms for a lens manufacturer? And who knew that it was all preparation for my new role? I look back at my fascination with lenses and optics, my drive to find new and better ways to develop and deliver education and training, and I recognize that I was charting a course to 20/20. I am indebted to so many wonderful people in our industry, in particular at Vision Ease, where I was encouraged to pursue my natural propensity for education and training.

I look forward to working with you and industry education leaders to deliver, optician to optician, important news from the field, along with the continuing education courses and training for which Jobson’s 20/20 group is renowned.
