When is a trend no longer a trend, but a style choice firmly entrenched in the consumer consciousness? When you see it again… and again… and again. When the look is constantly being reinterpreted and reimagined in new materials and colors, then you’ve moved away from trend territory into the realm of the wardrobe staple. Aviators and pilots are already iconic sunwear styles, but these shapes and especially the double bridge detail, have had a major impact on optical styles. Traditional metals with a double bridge exist side by side with zyl updates in new shapes and colors—all are evidence that this eyewear trend isn’t going away any time in the future.
